Freedom Church: Our Beliefs
The Essentials:
About God
He Has eternally existed as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The three are coequal and are one God. Genesis 1:1, Genesis 1:26-27, Genesis 3:22, Psalm 90:2, Matthew 28:19, II Corinthians 13:14
About Jesus
He is the Son of God, coequal with the Father and the Holy Spirit. He lived and died for our sins on a cross, and he rose again on the third day. Later, he ascended into Heaven and will return again someday to Earth to reign as King. Matthew 1:22-23, Isaiah 9:6, John 1:1-5, Hebrews 4:14-15, I Corinthians 15:3-4, Romans 1:3-4, Acts 1:9-11, I Timothy 6:14-15
About the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is coequal with the Father and the Son of God. He lives in each Christian from Salvation. He guides and provides Christians with power for living, understanding, spiritual truth, gives us spiritual gifts, and guides us in doing what’s right. Acts 1:8, John 14:16-17, John 16:7-13, Galatians 5:25, I Corinthians 2:12, I Corinthians 3:16, Ephesians 1:13, II Corinthians 13:14
About the Bible
The Bible is our absolute authority and truth, written by supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. The Word of God is preserved by the Holy Spirit. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without error. II Timothy 3:16, II Peter 1:20-21, Psalm 12:6-7, Psalm 119:105, Proverbs 30:5
About Salvation
Salvation is God’s free gift to us by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, John 14:6, Romans 3:23, Romans 5:1, Romans 5:8, Romans 10:9-10,13
About Eternal Security
People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through salvation. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence. John 3:18, John 5:24, John 3:16, John 14:17, Romans 6:23, Revelation 20:15, Philippians 2:5-11, Matthew 25:31-34,41
About the Rapture and the Second Coming of Jesus
We believe in the Blessed Hope, the personal, pre-millennial, pre-tribulational and imminent return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, which is known as the rapture of the church. We also believe in the personal, visible and glorious return of Christ to the Earth with His Saints at the end of the Great Tribulation. This phase of His coming is known as the revelation of Jesus Christ. When He returns to Earth with His saints, we believe that Jesus Christ will establish His millennial Kingdom and will reign for one thousand years. Titus 2:13, I Thessalonians 4:13-17, John 14:3, Revelation 19:11-21, Revelation 20:1-6
